Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my wooden chopping board?

We recommend hand washing your board with warm, soapy water after each use. Dry it immediately with a cloth and stand it upright to air dry — never lay it flat while wet. For a full guide, visit our Chopping Board Care page.

How do I clean my board?

Hand wash only — do not soak or put your board in the dishwasher. Soaking causes the wood to warp and crack. For stubborn odours, rub with half a lemon and coarse salt, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

How often should I oil my board?

We recommend oiling your board once a month, or whenever the wood starts to look dry. Use food-safe mineral oil or our board care wax. Apply generously, leave overnight, then wipe away any excess.

Are your boards food safe?

Yes. All ASH Chopping Boards™ are finished with food-safe mineral oil and wax, making them completely safe for food preparation straight out of the box.

How long does delivery take?

All our boards are handcrafted in Yorkshire, so please allow 12–14 working days for your order to be made and dispatched. Once shipped, UK delivery typically takes 1–3 working days. EU orders are estimated at up to 28 working days from dispatch.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — all UK orders qualify for free standard shipping, with no minimum spend required.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to the UK, 21 European countries (£14.99 flat rate), and Rest of World via DHL/FedEx (carrier-calculated at checkout). If you're unsure whether we ship to your country, feel free to get in touch.

Personalisation

Can I personalise my board?

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return window, starting 1 days after you receive your order. Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging. Personalised items cannot be returned unless faulty.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We take great care in packaging every order, but if something arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photos and we'll make it right.

What wood types do you use?

We work with a range of premium hardwoods including Oak, Ash, Sapele, Walnut, Cherry, and exotic species such as Palmwood, Pink Ivory, and Ebony. Each board is unique — natural grain patterns mean no two are ever identical.
